ADMISSION INTO UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN UI IS THROUGH TWO METHOD
1. UTME/ UNIVERSITY ENTRANCE EXAMINATION (UME)
2. DIRECT ENTRY (DE)
As all federal universities, admission to the University of Ibadan is through a joint admissions board, by completing the University Entrance Examination (UME) and obtaining a minimum score of 200 in the examination.
UTME/UME REQUIREMENTS
1. Candidates will be required to complete (5 credit 'O') level subjects in one or 6 credit two sittings in 5 related subjects.
2. Credit pass in English are mandatory for all faculties. All science-based courses require to have credits in mathematics
3. However, mathematics is accepted in all subjects in the Faculty of Social Sciences, except economics, where credit is required
4. Candidates need a minimum of 5 'O' credits at any one time to be admitted to any course in the medical school.
5. The University of Ibadan has developed an admissions model for candidates over the past four years, finding the average of 'O' Levels (60%) and UME (40%) to arrive at an acceptable cutoff for each subject. .
IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THE FOLLOWING ;
1. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age as of October 1 of the year of application.
2. Candidates are divided into two categories: University Entrance Examination (UME) and Direct Entrance Examination (DE) participants.
3. Applicants who have been admitted to this university through the university entrance examination or direct selection of the Joint Admissions Committee must meet the basic requirements for admission to the university and/or their department
DIRECT ENTRY (DE) REQUIREMENTS
1. Candidates with 'A' level, General National Diploma (OND), Higher National Diploma (HND), Nigerian Certificate of Education (NCE) or equivalent can be admitted through direct entry at 200/300 level.
2. You must have received the required forms from JAMB and also meet the general 'O' level requirements for the college seeking admission.
However, neither JAMB nor the university can forces you to take another exam. Procedure

3. This application will be evaluated by the admission committee of each class at the time of admission. The names of selected candidates are invited to an interactive session and displayed on the university website, after which successful candidates are formally submitted to JAMB for approval. · The list of finalists approved by JAMB is published in selected national newspapers and university websites.
After paying the prescribed admission fee, candidates must present their original credentials to the designated program officer of the Licentiate Admissions Committee for approval. · Candidates determined to be eligible in the screening process will be accepted as conscientious students to our school through an impressive ceremony.
4. In general, each applicant should initiate a central clearing movement by calling the Admissions Office before proceeding to the respective faculties and departments for departmental approval and enrollment.
REGISTRATION
(i) All students must be enrolled in the University at the beginning of each academic year by the rules established by the University
2. If a student does not complete registration two weeks after the start of the session, the student will be considered not enrolled in the course. 3. However, if the relevant department/department does not register on time, a fine may be levied for negligence.

ENROLLMENT NUMBER/STUDENT STATUS

To become a student at the University of Ibadan, students must meet the minimum educational requirements for admission into the university. On enrollment day, usually the first Saturday in November each year, each new student formally signs a statement stating that they have been granted provisional admission to the university and will abide by the laws and regulations of the university. Use your admission number
Student administration is automated in the university's computer center. For this purpose, during registration, each student is assigned a registration number. No official student document or document will be considered complete or valid without the correct registration number. Once the admission number is assigned, the number must be maintained even if the course or department is changed. Graduate students must therefore register with their undergraduate admission number when applying for Photonics. Students attempting to obtain more than one registration number may be subject to disciplinary action and may be expelled.
IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT ENTRANCE EXAMS, QUALIFICATIONS AND IMPORTANCE
