Muslims worldwide fast during Ramadan, which is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, from dawn until dusk.
The International Astronomical Center (IAC) in Dubai has reported seeing the crescent moon signaling the start of Ramadan. The observation was made on Wednesday at 8:15 a.m. in Abu Dhabi.

According to a Gulf News report, the first crescent moon has been sighted in UAE, marking the beginning of Ramadan. It was observed on Wednesday at 8:15 am in Abu Dhabi, culminating in the commencement of the First Ramadan tomorrow Thursday.The IAC shared the first image of the Ramadan 1444 AH crescent in a tweet that was posted this morning. The image was taken by the International Astronomy Center's Astronomical Seal Observatory on March 22, 2023, at 8:15 am UAE time, just before sunrise in Abu Dhabi. The moon was 7.4 degrees from the sun when the photo was taken.
As a result, the first day of Ramadan will be tomorrow, Thursday, March 23.

The center's camera got a better view of the Ramadan crescent at 10:30 am (UAE time). When this picture was taken, the moon was 8° 2′ from the sun. The view is becoming more picturesque as the moon, sun, and horizon grow farther apart.
