Federal Government Scholarship (FSB) Award 2024 | How To Apply

 The Federal Government Scholarship Award, announced by the Federal Ministry of Education, Nigeria, is a fully-funded scholarship opportunity for Nigerian undergraduate and postgraduate students. It is open to students enrolled in both public and private universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education across Nigeria.


The scholarship provides a renewable cash award of N250,000 per annum to all selected applicants, regardless of their background or religion. This financial support aims to assist students in pursuing their educational goals and alleviating the financial burden associated with higher education in Nigeria.



Federal Government Scholarship Details:


The Honourable Minister of Education (HME), Prof. Maman Tahir, extends an invitation to interested and qualified Nigerians to participate in the 2023/2024 Nomination Computer Based Test (CBT) for the Federal Government Scholarship Award.


The Federal Scholarship Board is dedicated to ensuring that deserving Nigerian scholars receive both foreign and local scholarships. Additionally, it is entrusted with the responsibility of fulfilling commitments to Multilateral Education Agreements, Education Bursary Awards, and Bilateral Education Agreements (BEA).

SCHOLARSHIP UPDATES GROUPFederal Government Scholarship Requirements:


To qualify for the Federal Government Scholarship Award, applicants must meet the following criteria:


- Must be enrolled as a full-time student at a Federal or State University.

- Must hold at least a first degree with Second Class Honours Division (for postgraduate students).

- Must be registered as full-time students in their second year or beyond at Federal or State Universities, Polytechnics, Monotechnics, and Colleges of Education.

- Must have a Cumulative Grade Points Aggregate (CGPA) of at least 4.0 on a five-point scale or its equivalent, or 5.0 on a seven-point scale for undergraduate, Higher National Diploma (HND), and National Certificate of Education (NCE) students.

- For NCE/HND applicants, a CGPA of 3.5 and above on a 4.0 scale is required.

- Should not concurrently hold another scholarship or award, nor pursue part-time studies.

- Must not change course or institution while benefiting from the scholarship.

Federal Government Scholarship Duration and Reward:


- The scholarship is valid in Nigeria and commences from the start of the academic session.

- The scholarship amounts to:

  - N250,000 per annum for Undergraduate Scholars

  - N300,000 per annum for Postgraduate Scholars

  - N150,000 per annum for HND students

  - N150,000 per annum for NCE students
